Oikocredit partners with Differ Community Power to increase access to clean energy
Oikocredit’s newest loan will help Differ Community Power electrify more health and education facilities across sub-Saharan Africa.
Oikocredit has strengthened its renewable energy portfolio by financing Differ Community Power, an organisation known for its solar energy systems tailored for social institutions. The USD 2.5 million loan will be used to expand Differ’s reach to underserved areas, ensuring reliable and sustainable energy for schools, hospitals, and humanitarian centres.
Established in 2020, Differ Community Power operates in 12 countries, including Malawi, Nigeria, and Chad. The company’s holistic services, which include digital tools, water supply solutions, and advanced maintenance systems, are designed to maximise community impact. This funding will also support research and development to enhance Differ’s innovative offerings.
