Reflecting on 2017 and looking forward to the future

Happy New Year to all our readers! This first newsletter of 2018 takes a look back at some of the highlights and achievements of the past year with future insights from our managing director, Thos Gieskes.

2017 saw Thos take up his new position. In our interview, he takes a look back at his first months on the job, assessing Oikocredit’s strengths and challenges, and how the organisation can move forward. We then shine the spotlight on the work of table-football craftsman Felix Cardenas, a client of our Bolivian microfinance partner Banco Pyme de la Comunidad. We finish in neighbouring Brazil, by looking at the work of another partner, Coopfam, a cooperative which is empowering women coffee farmers.
